Francis Dubé is Full Professor in Instrumental Pedagogy at the Faculty of Music of Laval University. His research interests are about music game-based learning, creativity in instrumental teaching, and well-being by musical practice. His research is subsidized by the FRQ-SC, SSHRC and Global Affairs Canada. He also obtained a major grant from the CFI for the construction of a Research Laboratory in Ear Training and Instrumental Pedagogy (LaRFADI: www.larfadi.oicrm.org).
Francis Dubé regularly gives conferences in different countries in North America, South America, Europe and Asia on different topics of music pedagogy. He received in 2013 an award from his University for the excellence of his teaching, and The Harman Innovation Awards at UBTech 2016 in the “Classroom Design and Implementation” category for the LaRFADI.
