I recently graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in Psychology and Art & Design. Although seemingly unrelated to my studies, my interest in serious games and digital gaming led me to devote much of my time and effort to the long-term development of a game-based learning project. With my knowledge and experience as an artist, a game developer, and from psychology, I led a research team developing an educational video game intended to teach about different cultures to Alberta’s grade 3 and 4 students. Although I have now graduated and am pursuing a master’s degree in Counselling Psychology at McGill University, I continue to keep up with this work and oversee its application in practice. While my wide range of experiences and interests are sometimes at odds with each other, I consider them to be my unique strengths which will carry me further in my life and career.
