Biography

For over 15 years Laurent Gosselin has been actively implicated in the design, the development, the evaluation and teaching of serious games. As a doctoral candidate for Rehabilitation at the University of Montreal’s School of Medicine and as a Master’s graduate from the School of Digital Arts of Animation and Design at UQAC he designed Star Kart, a serious game, which is a tool to assist rehabilitation specialists helping young children acquire the skills needed to drive a powered wheelchair.

He believes that technology is only a means to an end that should be used to enhance learning to help simplify, empowering their users towards their goals. Therefore, his design approach focusses on the pragmatic needs of the users and in the added value of the serious games.
