Stephen P. Yang, Ph.D., M.S., B.S. is an Assistant Professor at SUNY Oswego in Health Promotion & Wellness and he researches the effectiveness of using exergames (fitness video games) and mobile technologies (mHealth) for improved health and wellness.
I research the effectiveness of using technology and fitness video games (exergames) and mobile technologies to improve health. I’ve been active in the field of exergaming since its infancy and have published and presented internationally and nationally. I’ve been invited to speak at several conferences and was a surrogate and contributor to the Games for Health (GFH) Project, and consult with video game developers, and toy and exergame companies on products and programming.
In recognition of my knowledge and expertise, I was appointed to the Board of Advisors of Disruptive Health Technologies for the prestigious Canyon Ranch Institute, been invited to speak at international conferences, trade events, and have been interviewed for national media and news broadcasts. Throughout all my research and collaborations, I seek ways to use technology to inspire people to live healthier and more active lives.
